Essential Oils Guide
MAYJAM Essential Oils
MAYJAM Essential Oils are free from preservatives, colorants, emulsifiers, and solubilisers. They are derived from organic or wild aromatic plants, and the base oil is extracted using cold pressing technology which preserves the potency of the essential components to the fullest extent.
These essential oils are packed in amber bottles, which reduces degradation from light and UV rays. This means they can last up to three years, when stored correctly.
Most scents are available in 30ml or 100ml, but this may vary, depending on stock levels at the time of ordering. They all come safely boxed, and an oil dropper is supplied with each bottle.
The MAYJAM Essential Oils company is based in Mainland China, but their ingredients are sourced globally, with production bases and distillers all over the world. They are committed to providing customers with high quality products and services.
How to Use MAYJAM Essential Oils
For the best calming and sleep-inducing effects, we recommend adding MAYJAM Essential Oils to water in a diffuser (check out our selection of diffusers). These essential oils can also be used to make soaps and candles. If you wish to add essential oil to a lotion or spray solution that will have contact with the skin - either directly or through clothes and/or bedding - please ensure you add a carrier oil, such as coconut, sweet almond, or jojoba, to reduce the risk of irritation.
For Optimal Results:
- Use the dropper included with your essential oil bottle
- Start by adding 3 to 5 drops of essential oil per 100ml of water
- Begin with the recommended minimum amount of drops, and gradually increase, depending on your desired aroma strength
- The number of drops needed will vary based on your diffuser's water capacity, the room size, and your preference for scent intensity.
Quick Guide to Water-to-Oil Ratios:
- 100ml - 3 to 5 drops
- 180ml - 5 to 8 drops
- 200ml - 6 to 10 drops
- 250ml - 7 to 12 drops
- 300ml - 9 to 15 drops
- 400ml - 12 to 20 drops
- 500ml - 15 to 25 drops
Feel free to adjust the number of drops to suit your personal preference.
Blending Essential Oils
If you find just using one particular essential oil is not sufficient to ease the symptoms of anxiety - both physiological and emotional - and induce sleep, consider making your own blend. This can be a process of trial and error, but here are some suggestions for blends to help with sleep anxiety.
This particular blend of essential oils promotes relaxation by easing nervous tension, anxiety and stress. It can also aid the body's own natural sleep-inducing mechanisms, and stimulate the release of mood-enhancing hormones for your restless sleeper. To reduce nervous tension and anxiety, whilst promoting deep relaxation, we recommend a blend of these essential oils:
- Cedarwood
- Bergamot
- Cinnamon
- Vetiver
- Lavender
Another good blend for sedative effect is a mix of these essential oils:
- Lavender
- Juniper Berry
- Ylang Ylang
- Chamomile
- Sweet Orange
Important Safety Warnings
- Do not ingest essential oils
- Always dilute essential oils with a carrier oil (such as coconut, sweet almond, or jojoba) before applying to the skin; never apply directly
- Avoid contact with eyes and other sensitive areas
- Ensure proper ventilation when using undiluted essential oils to avoid prolonged exposure
- Store essential oils and carrier oils correctly to prevent degradation and rancidity (citrus-based oils are particularly sensitive to UV light)
